A law intern's look at China and Chinese law.

Italy, too bad.

Well, in my last post I wrote about how law involves a lot more than going to the law library and writing cases.  In this post I'm going to elaborate.  Practicing law means going to Italy for a week.

For business reasons, of course, but you can't help but enjoy yourself in Italy.  Mr. Lehman went to Italy last year as part of a partnership with one of Italy's prominent law firms, Carone & Partners.  Along with Mr. Carone, Mr. Lehman and gave lectures on Italians doing business in China to businesses and industial associations, including Assolombarda--the largest industrial association in Italy.

So law is about connections, as well.  I've written dozens of letters to law firms around the world in hopes of setting up a new business alliance because these alliances bring local knowledge to the aid of businesses on both ends of an international deal.  A large network of partnerships means a business can go to Mr. Carone or Mr. Lehman and feel confident about entering almost any market.

And what better connections can you have than with Italians?  Especially if you get to visit them.

Here are some pictures:

And one more:

Ahhhh, Italy.  Too bad Mr. Lehman had to go all the way there for business reasons.
